Production on Mission: Impossible 5, which was shut down for a week to write a new climax, has now resumed and is currently in the process of filming the revised ending.
It was reported earlier that director Christopher McQuarrie, lead star Tom Cruise, and a third unidentified writer took a week to improve the ending, reported Entertainment Weekly.
Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol, the last film in the franchise, released in 2011 and set new box-office records for the series.
It's not the first time Paramount executives have chosen to change the ending of a film at late notice. Director Marc Forster had to scramble to reshoot the final third of Brad Pitt's World War Z in 2013 after test audience reacted negatively to its original conclusion.
