Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt in Karan Johar Shuddhi

According to a Mumbai Mirror report, there is a buzz that Karan Johar has approached Sanjay Dutt to play the antagonist in his upcoming film Shuddhi and take on Salman Khan who plays the lead role. The report quoted a source close to the development saying, "Yes, Sanjay has been approached to play a significant role in the film, talks are on." Sanjay had earlier played Kancha Cheena in Karan Johar's Agneepath remake. There were reports stating that after Hrithik Roshan opted out and Kareena Kapoor moved on, Karan had approached Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone for the film, but they were whisked away by Sanjay Leela Bhansali to play the lead in Bajirao Mastani. Shuddhi will roll towards the year-end or early next year and will have a Diwali 2016 release, the report concluded.

While Sanjay has quite a few projects in hand even as he is serving his jail term, Rajkumar Hirani is set to make a biopic on him.
