According to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, the Nou Camp giants are preparing for life without Alves by putting together January bids for Hector Bellerin and Javier Manquillo.
Ballerin, 20, has greatly impressed in
his breakthrough season at Arsenal, having made 19 appearances so far this campaign.
The Spaniard was in Barcelona’s youth set-up throughout his teenage years before switching to the Gunners in 2011.
Manquillo, meanwhile, has also excelled in the Premier League this term, making 19 outings for Liverpool.
On loan from Atletico Madrid, the 20-year-old last played for the Reds in February and could act as competition for Bellerin in the Barca back-line.
Nou Camp boss Luis Enrique is searching for new recruits as he prepares to let Alves leave for Manchester United this summer.
Alves’ contract expires in July with no sign of the club seeking to extend the deal.
Meanwhile, neither Martin Montoya nor Douglas have impressed in the right-back slot at Barca, meaning the club will seek January signings when their transfer ban is lifted.
