The 26-year-old Mexican striker, who is currently on loan at Real Madrid has vented his frustration at his lack of playing time with the Champions League holders, as per the Guardian.
Hernandez has only scored three goals in 13 appearances in La Liga this term, with a majority of those coming on
as a substitute.
The Mexico international has a shot accuracy of 50%, however Carlo Ancelotti has opted to stick with the more clinical and reliable French striker Karim Benzema, as well as marquee star Gareth Bale and Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo.
Los Blancos however, are not looking to sign Hernandez on a permanent deal, and the Mexican striker may therefore have to return to England at the end of the season, report TalkSport.
Talksport report Hernandez is valued at around £9 million has been attracting interest from an unlikely source in the shape of Stoke City, who may well seek to sign him as an accompanying striker for Bojan Krkic.
Hernandez, on the other hand could opt to remain with his parent club United, who are in search of a striker in the summer due to the injury to Robin van Persie and poor form of Radamel Falcao.
