Shahid Kapoor's Udta Punjab In Monetary Crisis

Finally, the cast for the movie Udta Punjab has been finalised as Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor confirmed about the availability for the project. However, now another problem has popped up for the makers of Udta Punjab as one of the production houses has backed off from the project.

As reported, Shahid Kapoor's upcoming movie Udta Punjab was supposed to be produced by two production houses, but now one of the studios left the project which has put an question mark on the remuneration of the stars. However, stars like Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor are not much bothered about the monetary aspect as they apparently loved the script of Udta Punjab and the film's shooting is likely to start soon. One leading publication quoted a source saying, "It will start rolling in Punjab from March 1st. The actors have been told that they will get their remuneration only when a film studio comes on board. They have agreed to this condition as they loved the script. As of now, Phantom will be funding the film. However, the search is still on for another producer." Directed by Abhishek Chaubey, the movie Udta Punjab starring Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor in lead roles is based on the issue of drug abuse in Punjab.
