Jordan Henderson has gone from zero to hero

If we rewind back to 2012 when Brendan Rodgers took over as Liverpool manager, Jordan Henderson, 24, was on the brink of a £5 million deal to Fulham.

Three years later Henderson is the vice-captain and playing an integral part in Liverpool's first team.

HARD WORK PAYS OFF

It's fair to

say Henderson main attribute is his brilliant energy, attitude and hard work. The midfielder won over the Anfield faithful through his desire and ambition to work. 

Last season Henderson ran more than any other player in the top-half of the Premier League. He will work and work, run and run onto anything, it is becoming evident that Henderson is becoming the perfect heir to Steven Gerrard.

HEIR TO STEVEN GERRARD

Liverpool have not lost any matches Henderson has been captain, winning 12 and drawing three.

Henderson has proved to be a leader not only on the pitch but in the dressing room as well, proving to be a worthy successor to Gerrard.

Jamie Carragher has described Henderson as 'one of the best midfielders in the country' as he admitted he doubted Henderson's quality to play for Liverpool when he first arrived.

But the former Sunderland man has become on of the best midfielders in the Premier League.

Gary Neville, who works with Henderson as a coach to England national team, said: "I remember seeing him last year and noticing a big change in him in terms of training as well as becoming more vocal".

RECENT IMPROVEMENT

The one thing Henderson was lacking last season was goals and assists; incidentally that is the one thing he has added to his name.

Henderson boasts three goals in as many games, taking his total to six for the season and contributing seven assists this season.

That record is dramatically improving and if he continues to improve Liverpool may have someone very special amongst them.
